Dining in Burlington
Can anyone reccomend a nice place for a lunch in the Burlington area for 4 adults?
Looking for nice atmosphere and great food for a leisure lunch over the holiday season. Thanks,Sherri |
We had my a rehearsal dinner at Oliver& Bonacini at Oakville Place in Burlington last year...I could not say enough great things about this place...we were from out of town and had to set everything up from a distance...I was a little worried because it was attached to a mall but everything was beautiful and the meal was superb.

Oliver & Bonacini at Oakville Place is in Oakville, not Burlington. I recently had an excellent lunch at Spencer's in Burlington which is on Lake Ontario. I am sure there are other excellent restaurants in Burlington that readers can recommend as well.

Thanks for the info on the Oakville place. There are lots of
places there, and nice to know about one that is recommended. Spencers could be nice, especially waterfront. Snow, ice and cold still has a beauty of it's own over the lake, right? Will see if I can get a few more opinions so we can decide. |
Four of us had lunch recently at Oliver & Bon in the Oakville Place Shopping Centre.
Three of us had a great lunch. The forth, who was the hostess and paid for it all, says, "it was awful. Someone should have been shot. And the calimari was already dead." Lunch was about two and a half hours, with no sense of us being rushed. Prices a littlelower than we might have thought. I had fish and chips (double portion) which I thought was excellent. About Burlington - I've never been to Spencer's, but I have heard it is excellent. It turns out that I've never had a need to eat well in Burlington, other than in my friend Jane's house. Eating casually; there's a two fortino's, which make extraordinary pizza, and an IKEA, and Several Swiss Chalets. But if I was going to eat well, commercially, I'd probably go to The Keg. 3130 South Service Road Burlington, ON L7N 3J3 CHECK IF IT IS OPEN FOR LUNCH. Some Kegs are and some are not, and the rules change in December. Or Milestones, across from Costco, south of Indigo, north of QEW, on Brant Street. ABOUT CHAINS: I ghave eaten so many meals in so many restaurants, big and small, chains and owner-chef, owner-host with minimum wage short order cook, etc. etc. that I have come to trust chains (and even O&B had a bad day with one menu item) and doubt one-off restaurants, unless I've talked to some happy eaters. Pepperwood Bistro is very popular . I've always enjoyed it . It's right on Lakeshore just west of Brant Street

There is also West Plains Bistro that is quite good . Www.westplainsbistro.com
It's a couple of years old and is very popular . If you are looking for fine dining you could go to Lord Nelson Steak house on Plains Rd Enjoy your time in Burlington |
Second the vote for Pepperwood Bistro -although I guess kodi recommended it to me so thats why. They have nice entertainment for the Sunday brunch and lots of menu choices.
