Detroit - Montreal

We are spending three nights in Montreal with our 14 and 17 yr olds. Driving from Detroit. Is there anyone with suggestions on places to stop on the way. Looking to break it up a little?

It's at least 10 hours of freeway driving, allowing for crossing the border at Windsor and the inevitable congestion around Toronto and the west side of Montreal. If you mean an overnight stop, Belleville is a pleasant town although not exactly a tourist mecca, an hour and a half east of Toronto. The nearby Prince Edward County has become rustic-chic with wineries and organic cooking but I don't see those things charming mid-teens away from their smart phones. Otherwise there is Toronto itself where you could easily spend three nights while the teens disappear on their own.

We traveled from Detroit to Vermont through Canada. Our overnight stop was near Kingston. We arrived there about 6pm. After that long drive we ate and went to bed. However, if you got there a bit earlier or the next day you could see Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands.
