Delta hotel too far from old city, or other recommendation

I am looking at the Delta Hotel in Quebec City. Is this too far from old city. I want walking distance.

Any thoughts on this or other suggestions, maybe Quebec Hilton..

We are traveling with our 1 year old. Chateau Frontenac is too expensive. I would really like a pool, so that limits us, but a pool is not necessary.

Please help with this.

The Delta is right next to the Hilton. It is very easy to walk to the old city from either hotel. The Delta is a nice hotel, but should be cheaper than the Hilton.

We stayed at the Delta last summer and the location was fine, just a few blocks from the city walls.

As noted above, the Delta and Hilton are right next to each other, and both are just north (to the right, if you're facing it) of the parliament building. I liked that the Delta was pretty much right in between the old and new parts of town--getting to the Grand Allee or Rue Ste Jean for more contemporary dining/nightlife took just as long as getting to the Old City. Not that it really matters, but the Hilton is newer, and not clad in the ugly concrete of the Delta.
