Days Inn Carlton St / Toronto
Considering staying at this property over
New Years. Anybody stayed there recently that can give me a report?? Is it decent? The price is right (129.00 CDN). Itis advertised as Days Inn & Suites, so I am hoping it might be a little nicer property? Thanks/Sherri |
I keep reading on this forum of astoundingly low rates people get via Priceline, etc.
The Days Inn seems to be fine; clean, decent location, people say they are happy there, but perhaps you can do better, for about the same money, or less. Take a look at the Hotel Victoria and The Strathcona, plus the central Toronto locations of various hotels in the Choice Hotels chain. Journey's End on Bloor Street West, for instance. BAK |
Thanks BAK . I think I may have found
something we might like a bit better at a comparable price. The Hotel Intercontintal on Front Street (previously Crowne Plaza). Any comments good or bad on that property from anyone? |
The Intercontinental is in a whold different class, and if the price is OK withyou, it would be a better chyoice for many reasons, and perhaps not quite as good for other reasons.
But, on balance, take the Intercontinental on Front Street BAK |
I stayed at the Intercontinental when it was the Crowne Plaza quite a bit. It is a fine place to stay, particularly if you can get one of the "newly renovated" rooms, although perhaps since I was there they've got around to renovating them all. Keep in mind that it is truly a "convention" hotel so feels somewhat anonymous and large.

The person I spoke with told me that they have just done a 30 million dollar
renovation, so that was appealing to me. The other thing is they have a pool, fitness ctr, jacuzzi etc so if it is the typical cold we sometimes experience in Toronto tht time of year, the jacuzzi/pool area will be a welcome site. CAT123 do you remember anything about the size of the pool? Decent size or small?? |
