Converting km to mph
We will be traveling to Canada from the US and would like to know how to determine the speed limits from km to mph. Any help would be appreciated.
|
If I recall correctly, you divide # of kilometers by 1.6 to convert to miles.
|
I find the easiest way to do it is to multiply kilometres by 0.6 ...
So, a Canadian speed limit of 100 is about 60 mph; 80 kph is about 50 mph; 50 kph is about 30 mph ... it's not perfect, but close enough for driving. Anselm |
Hi:
Rather than doing the mental calculation, I simply glance at my speedometer, which has numbers indicating my speed in both mph and kph. Also, when seeing a sign indicating that the next major town is 80 kms ahead, a glance at the speedometer will show that this equals about 48 miles. Regards. |
Thank you. All the information was very helpful.
