citypassports for Canada a good deal?

I have found the page

I would like to read, if anyone has used the vouchers and if there are any unwritten restrictions (does not seem to be so).

My area of intrest in Vancouver and Western Canada.

If you planned on visiting a lot of the attractions listed them maybe it's worth it.

The restaurants as listed though are for the most past second and third rate and some are no longer in business.

Definitely good for the museums and say dinner at La Gavroche...

If you go for dinner and say the Planetarium the pass practically pays for itself.

Do the math based on only the coupons you KNOW you will use.

If you don't save money with the coupons you will definitely use, don't bother with it. If you do save money, then any additional coupon you MIGHT use will be more savings, and the book is worth doing.

Don't forget to calculate in the cost of the book and any shipping costs. And be careful of the "well, we might as well see that (or go there) because we have a coupon" - that will cost you more in the long run.

Many thanks for all answers. We have deceided not to buy this pass. Intresting to read, that several restaurants listed on the page are already out of business.

Here's a hint - if you *are* interested in certain attractions, some of them can be purchased ahead of time from Tourism Vancouver's Tourist Info Centre (downtown at 200 Burrard Street, at their kiosk in the airport, at their kiosk in the cruise ship terminals, or at the Peach Arch border crossing). For example, if Grouse Mountain interests you, you save $4 per ticket by buying them at Tourism Vancouver.

There is also another alternative as well: the SmartVisit Card, at http://tinyurl.com/3bdqrc. It begins at $99 (adults) from 2 days, and gives you free admissions to many places, with some exceptions, and discounts at some shops.

Again, like Toedtoes said, figure out what you'd like to do, and add it up - and then determine if the SmartVisit card, or CityPassport will give you that for less.
