Christmas with children
I need suggestions for restaurants for Christmas Eve and Day with two children ages 7 and 9.

Canada ranges across five and a half time zones. Care to narrow the choices down a little? Otherwise, it's McDonalds.

should i guess...are you wondering about vegreville, alberta??? summerland, bc???
|
Actually ltt, Vegreville will probably be pretty cold and Summerland, damp and probably only fast food places will be serving.. Oh my what choices we are faced with.. ChefJoyce where are you going to be??

This reminds me of a funny (not so at the time) story. We winter in Green Valley AZ. A few years ago we decided to do something different for Christmas as we didn't have any family with us that year. I did my research and it was very hard to find a good restaurant open for Christmas dinner. I found one (a well known Tucson establishment) and made reservations. We also booked a motel and were going to make a mini vacation out of it. When we got to the restaurant it was extremely busy and although we had a reservation we had to wait a long time for the table. Eventually we were seated and again a long wait for a server. We ordered our dinner and waited for the appetizer that was cold when we got it. Again - no main course arrived. Eventually it arrived and looked hot but we had no cutlery. I asked for it but it didn't arrive. Now the food is cold and we are really upset. I went and asked for the manager - he appeared apologized and offered to get us a new entrée. We decided enough was enough and left. Of course we were hungry and drove around looking for the usual 24 hour restaurants just so we could have some food. Dennys was closed. McDonalds was closed. Then I spotted Coco's and the lights were on. I went in just as the hostess was telling those who were waiting they were out of food. The bakery counter was empty and I pleaded with her - do you have anything at all. They had one piece of coconut cream pie. I'll take it!! We went back to the hotel and had coffee and shared the pie. Our most memorable Christmas!!!:-d

I think there is a song " Memories are made of this ". You qualify for a rendition !!!

ChefJoyce: I don't know why you are not getting helpful answers to your question. There is a really nice restaurant down the street from me in Canada that does special meals at Christmas that I'm sure the kids would love. Shall I make you a reservation?

A guaranteed hit with the kids is a little place called "McDonalds"... its on the corner...
It's a Scottish Food place...I think..... |
