Carnaval in Quebec

I've always wanted to go to Quebec, would like to go for Winter Carnival this Feb or next year. Our 7 year old will be with us, should we stay at the Frontenac, or do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,
The Chateau Frontenac is ideally located and very nice but it is expensive, and it is possible to find cheaper accomodation. It can get pretty cold in February so make sure you bring a lot of warm clothes!

do a bit of research. it's been so warm in canada i heard it may hinder the carnival - i.e. skating, snow activities. i may be wrong though so check it out.
otherwise, consider next year but go, i hear it's great.

Although like a lot of the east coast, temps were unusually warm in Quebec in December, the highs of late have been consistently below zero. I'm sure the carnival won't be hindered particularly. DAN

All I can say about carnaval is brrrrr!
We spent almost 2 weeks in Quebec city during Carnaval and I swear it was the coldest spot in the world. The party though does make up for it!! We really didn't enjoy outside activities too much because of the cold, even though we dressed appropriately!

I would suggest you may want to see Quebec in the summertime!
