Caravan Tours in Nova Scotia/Prince Edward Island

I am considering taking an 8-day Caravan bus tour of Nova Scotia/Prince Edward Island in July or Aug. If you have used this tour company, please let me know of your experience and if you were satisfied. The stops are Halifax, Prince Edward Island, Baddeck at Cape Breton and Dundee. Thank you.

I did the Colonial Mexican tour with them and thought it was a terrific tour esp. when you consider the costs! The tour guide was excellent, the hotels and all the sites and food as promised.

I have used several tour companies and Caravan is one of my favorites. I was going to do this tour but decided on a cruise instead. Enjoy your trip.

Leanna, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the Caravan tour. Enjoy your cruise.

We took the Canadian Rockies tour two years ago. It was great and about half the cost of Tauck, whom we used for Canadian Capitals. Main difference was standard to pretty good hotels with Caravan and deluxe with Tauck. Ditto the food. So, we are taking this Nova Scotia with Caravan next month! I'll try to post how things went late June.

I took Caravan tour to Copper Canyon, so while I can't speak of Canadian tours, I can say that the company is good, you can call them with questions, I did not have any complaints.

By the way, Copper Canyons is a beautiful area, put on your "to go" list when the flu scare is over.

Just back. The trip went really well. Informative, pleasant guide. Accommodations satisfactory to great. No ups. However, I did call ahead to hotels and ask for upgrade at each stop. Worthwhile in PEI and Breton. Got very lucky with weather. We stayed extra day on our own in Lunenburg. I think restful time on the Southeast coast was a nice capper to another well done Caravan tour.

So glad to hear your tour was a good one. I really think Caravan does a nice job w/ things....and the price can't be beat! I will use them again

Did you tour The Anne of Green Gables stuff? What did you think? Im doing a cruise to this area in Oct and will be doing their A of GG tour so just wanted a sneak preview! :)

We did indeed. I looked forward to this stop. I enjoyed so much the Megan Fellows version on PBS with my (then) young children. It became a nostalgic visit. Of course, it is all a recreated version. Still, seeing Matthew's bowler on the downstairs bedstead misted me right up. The countryside North from Charlottetown was idyllic. Nice little morning visit.

I so get it!!!!! :) I'm about to start a re read of all the books and then I'll order the series from NF and watch those again. Have to get it all back in my old head!

I just think one of the neat things about travel is seeing the places you have read and heard about for all the years of your life. Imaginary or not......they still inspire.

I sobbed my way thru the Anne Frank House, and I was the same way standing on the street in front of Robt. L. Stevenson's house...imagining him inside, still a little boy, playing w/ his soldiers on his counterpane!
