Car rental locations in Victoria close to Victoria Clipper terminal?

It seems like the only place to rent a car in Vicotria is at the airport out near Sidney. Is that correct? We'd like to arrive on the Clipper from Seattle, but will need a car (headed out to Point-no-Point) and hope there is a location to rent a car that is closer to the harbour. Any ideas?

We may end up flying in from Seattle in the end, but I wanted to check out this option too for something different.
Thanks.

The Clipper arrives right downtown in Victoria and there are a number of car rental offices within walking distance of the terminal. Another option is to book your car rental and when you arrive the car rental company will come and pick you up. Check with the individual rental companies for their arrangements/policies.

Thanks amygirl.

Although they don't mention it on their website (why not?), Clipper Vacations will make rental car arrangements for their passengers. On their site it mentions packages that include hotels and tours, etc, but nothing about a rental car. I called them and they will indeed do a rental car "package" with Budget.

I'll check to see which is cheaper, their "package" or going directly with one of the rental companies independently.

Thanks again for the information.

All major car rental companies have a presence in Victoria and some like Enteprise will pick you up.

Here is a deal you might want to use if you are travelling before 6/30/2011: http://www.groupon.com/seattle/area/seattle/

The rental agencies downtown are behind the Empress, easily walkable from the Clipper especially if you only have one suitcase. If you have kids or strollers or lots of luggage then a lift by the company might be right for you.

If you fly in to Victoria, all the rental kiosks are near the baggage claim except Enterprise which is in Sidney, about 10 minutes away. YYJ is a $60 taxi fare from downtown ( April 2011) so there are considerations also of how you are leaving the area, drop off fees vs a taxi fare.

Thanks so much for the information! We will be setting aside this trip for this year, in favor of an Olympic National Park trip, BUT this information will be so useful when we go next year. Thanks again.
