Car Rental in Calgary
 

Hi all! Checked prices for car rental in Calgary about a month ago, but sadly did not book because my trip was not set. It appears that the car rental prices have since jumped from my initial quote of $310 to over $500. In some cities, I've taken a cab to rent a car outside of the airport and it still works out cheaper. Anyone know of a nearby car rental facility in Calgary? I'm flying in to YYC and heading to Banff. Thanks!

Ouch! Have you checked the prices to fly to Edmonton and rent there?. It might even be cheaper to fly to Edmonton and ride the train to Jasper and rent there. I realize it is a bit farther from Banff, but doable in a day.

I have been burned by having to move a rental reservation three days. They refused to let me move it at the same price even though when I made the original reservation the price for both dates was the same.

I spoke with a vice-president who couldn't care less. I said I would then start making 10 reservations for each possible trip so that I would be covered for several days of movement in either direction. I also said that I wouldn't cancel the the reservations I didn't end up needing.

VP couldn't care less.
