car in Vancouver

How necessary is a car for 2 days in Vancouver. We're staying at Pan Pacific Hotel.

A car is not at all necessary in Vancouver. As The public transport is excellent this and your feet are all you need.

If you had longer it would be nice to take a drive through West Vancouver but otherwise a car is more of a hindrance. When we have one there it usually stays parked and we walk.

Thanks for the info regarding a car in Vancouver. Perhaps you can help me with restaurant questions too. Our 1st night I have a reservation at Joe Fortes. The 2nd night it's between Five Sails and Blue Water Cafe. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Blue Water definitely.

Dear M.B.,
Have you been to Blue Water? I read great reviews. Any other restaurant suggestions on that caliber?
Also, can you recommend a great casual retaurant?
Thanks.
