Car Hire - Include Toronto? Any good B7B recommendations
It seems distances in Toronto are quite far apart but congestion quite something. My husband and I will be visiting Canada end June starting in Toronto for 3 days. i thought since there is public trasport I would book the car after day 3 to go on to Niagra.
Is this a good idea? Would it be better to just pick up the car at the airport and go on to our accommodation?

Any good "B&B"'s you could recommend would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Nicole

Sorry, can't help with B&Bs.

But yes, renting a car for a day and going to Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake (different places, close together) is an excellent thing to do.

I'd suggest just renting the car for the day. Otehrwise, use public transit to visit other interesting things, althoguh your tastes and interests might mean you want to see things outside the core.

Most toruists stick to downtown, more or less, and are happy.

BAK

There are a lot of tours out of Toronto that will take you to Niagara Falls if you don't want to rent a car. Check Grey Lines or Gray Lines (forget the spelling).

We toured round Ontario starting in Toronto last June.We found public transport good and reliable and did not pick up a car until we were leaving the city, this worked out fine. We stayed at a lovely B&B about a five minute walk from the theatre district, I could thoroughly recommend it, super breakfast and a lovely victorian style back garden and deck, it was hard to think you were in the centre of a large city, here is the url:-
http://www.torontobandb.com/kate.htm

Hi Nicole:
Enjoy your trip to Toronto, the public transportation system is really good. The Zoo, Toronto Island, Eaton Centre, Chinatown, the markets, CN Tower are some of the must do places to see.
Renting a car for a day or two to go to Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls is a good idea.
For a good listing of B&Bs, check out www.canvisit.com. We are listed and take children. Our personal website is www.niagaraonthelakebb.com.
Have a wonderful family time. Take care, Elsa.
