Cape Breton route

Next week my husband and I will be driving through New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to Baddeck. We will spend one night in St. Andrews, two in Charlottetown and three in Baddeck. We will not attempt to see anything except the Cape Breton area of Nova Scotia. We want to cover both the Cabot and Ceilidh trails. My husband is expecially interested in the Celtic music and I would like to see the Alexander Graham Bell museum if we can squeeze it in. Also wouldn't mind driving on at least a portion of the Bras d'Or scenic drive, but I get the feeling we may be trying to stretch our plans too far.
Does anyone have any suggestions how we can take in the most scenery possible and also explore the music, etc. Also, what about alternate plans if we are socked in by fog?
We are really excited about this trip and want to make the most of it! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

THree nights in Baddeck will afford you a great opportunity to explore. You can do the trail in one day from Baddeck. Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. If he is still running, take a boat tour on the Loch Breagh (Baddeck). He has a great history on Bell and will show you his estate, etc. Baddeck Lobster Suppers are good - try their planked salmon if they have it. ALso the Mellow Yellow (or something like that) has great pizza and music on the weekends. Get there early for a seat! Baddeck is a dry village (no taverns, etc.) but you can have a drink at the yacht club.
Tanya, is it the Yellow Cello that you are thinking of? We stopped in there twice while in Baddeck - once to pick-up a light lunch to take with us on the "Amoeba Sailing Tour" (902-295-2481) - then again after the sailing tour for a snack. I can also recommend the Bell Museum - very interesting.

Ellen, I second the Amoeba Sailing idea - very interesting history, possible eagle sitings, views.
Tanya's suggestion of Baddeck Lobster Supper's planked salmon is also good. I thought it was MUCH better than their lobster, actually!
My husband and I have been to Cape Breton twice. The first trip we stayed the first night in the Margaree area {terrific boat trip with a guy whose name I THINK was Leo Burns, celtic music}. Day 2 we spent hiking and siteseeing along the skyline trail, overnighting in Cape North {didn't enjoy a sail nearby here, freezing cold, no whales, hosts were not outgoing}, but the accomodations/food was excellent}. Then we spent 2 nights in Baddeck, allowing us plenty of time to see the excellent Bell Museum, sail, and stroll around town. I recall posters advertising celtic music here, but for some reason {we like it too}, we didn't go.
This itinary worked great for us - get the excellent NS Doers and Dreamers guide to help narrow your choices.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I feel much better now about the time we have allotted to Baddeck. We're looking forward to a great trip!
