Cape Breton hotel suggestions?
I've searched for hotel suggestions but haven't come up with much for Cheticamp and Baddeck, which is where I think I'd like to stay. Does anyone have recommendations for either of those places? Preferably in the neighborhood of $100 US a night for a double. Basic is fine as long as it's clean, the bed doesn't try to kill us, and it's big enough that the door doesn't hit the bed when you open it.

Try www.thewatersedgeinn.com in Baddeck.
Lovely view of the harbour from your balcony, very nice rooms! |
Try the NOrmaway Inn at Margaree Valley, which used to be a fishing lodge, but is now a country inn. It has both rooms in the Inn and separate cabins. The weekly ceildh is not to be missed.

Laverendrye, HI!
Actually I was looking at Margaree Valley. I will get at this part of the trip right after Easter. Thanks again! |

Try these: www.chanterellinn.com (brandnew cabins with a nice view of the surrounding countryside) www.lanternhillandhollow.com (my favourite, right at the gate of the Cape Breton Highlands NP, wonderful sea views, direct beach access) |
Sorry, has to be www.chanterelleinn.com

KarenE,
they both look lovely but..hate to admit it,Lantern Inn seems just a little above my normal budget. Am not sure I want to stay in Baddeck. Too far to drive every day to the park no? How is Ingonish Ferry? And also, I would love to visit Meat Cove. Is St. Lawrence a good place to stay or, an easy drive from Ingonish Ferry? |
If you want to stay in Ingonish, I would recommend Castle Rock Country Inn. check out their website at www.ingonish.com/castlerock
