we need to hire a car from Calgary to Vancouver for 2 weeks in July 2008.Is there a company that donot charge for picking up and droping of in different city's?

We rented from Hertz last July. Picked up in Vancouver and dropped off in Calgary - no drop off fee.

We travelled from Vancouver to Calgary because we were ending our trip with the Calgary Stampede. Also we are a family of 6 so I had all of our accomodations booked before hand (but I would not do that again).

I did not schedule much time in Vancouver and that was a mistake - we loved Vancouver and would have loved to have had 2 or 3 more days there.

We went white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River and loved it.

We also took the time to just stop and check things out - we stopped at a little place called the Enchanted Forest in BC and it was a nice break from driving and my kids could stretch out and the views were amazing.

The Columbia Ice Fields were also amazing and something that everyone should see.

My advice would be to plan ahead as much as possible so you know kind of where you want to be and what you want to see and do. But don't be afraid to go off from that and see what is out there.

Western Canada is absolutely beautiful and pictures do not do it justice! You have to see it for yourself.
