Bistro in Old Quebec: Bonus for lobster!
 

A friend and I will be spending four days in Vieux-Québec soon, staying at a B&B on Avenue Sainte-Geneviève. We'd love to have recommendations for bistros in the area, particularly any that serve lobster. Restaurant Aux Anciens Canadiens and Cafe de Paris on Rue Saint-Louis are two of the places we're considering, and we'd love any feedback we can get. I haven't been to Quebec in 45 years, so it's all new to me!

In the same areas as Aux Anciens Canadiens is Le Pain Béni,
24 Rue Sainte-Anne. Last fall a friend and I enjoyed both a lunch and a dinner there, finding the food and service to be assured and just adventurous enough to bring us back the second time. Full disclosure: We are mildly food-snobbish.
Here is what the place does with lobster: "Lemon-butter poached lobster and crispy sweetbreads, tomato risotto, asparagus, smoked eggplant caviar, veal juice. $36."

I would try Le Marie-Clarisse on Rue Petit Champlain in the Lower Town which many regard as the best seafood restaurant in the city. However you can't be guaranteed lobster as the menu changes each night, so it would be best to ask before reserving.

It's not too far a walk from your accommodation if you take the funicular.
