Best SIM card for use in Canada - mainly for data

We will be spending about 7 weeks in Canada next year and would like to have local access to calls, text, and internet via our GSM phones.

Can anyone recommend a supplier that offers a SIM with a reasonable amount of data per month/week and with no contract?

Where will you be? There are different carriers regionally. The least expensive carriers are in the major cities but their coverage is poor outside of those areas so it will help to know where you're going to be.

Thanks Elizabeth,
We'll be based in Vancouver & Vancouver Island across 4 weeks, and will spend 2 weeks around Jasper, Banff etc.

In that case I think you should stick to one of the big 3 carriers --- Telus, Bell or Rogers - their coverage and rates will all be pretty similar. Prepaid (no contract) is less common here but they all offer some form of prepaid voice/data plans.

Telus has another brand for prepaid only - I just had a look at the rates and they're not bad (for Canadian wireless pricing!)

It will be easy to find a store to buy the Koodo SIMS and top up - it's probably your best choice. But here are other websites if you want to compare prices

Thanks Elizabeth, I'll take a look at those sites.
