Best scallops in Digby?

Visiting Digby this summer. - Any recommendations for restaurant serving excellent scallop dishes?

This is so weird - I was talking to my sister today who just got back from Nova Scotia. She raved about some of the restaurants they visited. I'm sure she mentioned Digby. I'll follow up with her and post again.

Me again. My sister ate at a place called "The Captain's Cabin" - apparently it was really casual and not right on the water so the prices were better. They had the scallop special ($10.99) which was excellent, but the seafood platter was also recommended. If you're going in the summer, my sister recommended that you make reservations at most places as it's very busy then, but off season is much quieter.

She also recommended a wonderful place in Wolfeville (about 1 hr. from Halifax on north shore). It's much more elegant, but the food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. It's called Acton's Grill. Apparently that area of NS is wonderful - Annapolis Valley, close to Annapolis Royal and really not far from Digby either.

She lives in Calgary, but has been to Nova Scotia a couple of times - absolutely loves it there. They stayed in B&B's most of the time which sounded terrific and very reasonable.

The Boardwalk Cafe is a great place for a light meal. They have a regular menu of soups and sandwiches (on the best homemade bread) and also have daily specials which vary. I can't guarantee scallops will be on the menu when you go, but I sure something just as good will be served. They make an excellent seafood lasagna, and also have things like lobster quiche, seafood casserole, and rapure (an Acadian dish). The prices are very reasonable!
There is also the Pines Hotel. Much pricer, but very good and you are sure to find scallops on the menu. Digby is very small so you will not have a problem finding either.
I would agree with the recommendation to visit Annapolis Royal. It is a very nice historic little town and is only about 25-30 min away. Another suggestion is Bear River. It is a very picturesque little hamlet. There is not much there but does have a wonderful art & hand-crafts shop called Flight of Fancy.

Thank you all for your replies. We will be spending one night at the Pines. Will look forward to trying your suggestions.

I am from Digby NS originally. Lived there 18 yrs. If you are looking for great food also try Ed's Take Out & the Irving Restaurant (Quick Stop). These both have great food (seafood & otherwise) & the prices are the best. Big portions too.
Have a great trip. I too am going to Digby this Aug. Can't wait. It is so picturesque & the people are friendly & laid back. Do not be in a hurry if you go to NS. Everyone moves in a slow happy pace. Even the traffic is courteous. Hard to believe but true. Pedestrians actually have the right of way at crosswalks so please keep that in mind. Not like On where you can get run over just thinking about crossing. Happy vacationing.
