My top 3:
Indian: Taj Mahal (be sure to have their garlic naan)
Greek: Opa! hands-down best Greek
Italian: Il Mercato, excellent value

Generally, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and pricing of restaurant food here.

Enjoy!

what about seafood?

We were there years ago at a place called
3 fishermen, or something similar; I would think Halifax would have tons of great seafood places; klamchowder, with a name like yours, you gotta love seafood....

I'd have to agree with Opa! and Il Mercato, but I've not been to Taj Mahal (but have heard good things).

Five Fishermen is also a great restaurant. That would be a good choice for seafood.

There are many great restaurant's here - it all depends on what you want and what your budget is - but you can find something good/great to fit pretty much any budget and taste.

A couple more are Bish World Cuisine for high-end fusion and Chives for casual Canadian bistro cooking (very tasty).
