Best flight Calgary-Paris?
My two sisters and I want to fly late August from Calgary to Paris - in a comfortable non-cramped airplane, preferably without overnighting....Any suggestions?

Use Kayak to search for flights and fares:
www.kayak.com I'm not suggesting that you use them for your reservation. I'm just saying that's a good starting point for your research. I don't think there's such a thing as a comfortable, non-cramped plane. However, the mainstream airlines tend to be a little more spacious than the budget airlines (Air Transat, Zoom, et al). You can use the Seat Guru website to find the best possible seating on any given flight: www.seatguru.com I don't know what you mean by flying from Calgary to Paris without overnighting. If you mean you don't want an overnight stop in a hotel on the way, that can be done. However, most flights from North America to Europe fly at night, so you typically overnight in the plane itself. It's quite difficult to avoid that. If you get sticker shock when you see the air fares on Kayak, you could always switch the the Which Budget website (which, however, will bring up cramped flights): www.whichbudget.com |
Hi there -
Have you considered Zoom? They have direct flights to Paris from Calgary. We've flown them now three times in their premium economy which is more expensive but offers additional leg room and reclining capability. The extra cost also includes additional baggage allowance, dedicated check in, free alcoholic beverages, and free headsets. Booking in advance will be cheaper - sometimes they have seat sales. We've averaged about $1000 to $1200 per person flying to either Gatwick or Charles de Gualle. Not exactly cheap however, for the extra wiggle room and the convenience of a direct flight we will continue to use them in the future. www.flyzoom.com |
<comfortable non-cramped airplane>
You'll have to go business or first class. Plan on spending some money, unless you have lots of frequent flyer miles. <without overnighting> If you mean without having to spend the night on the plane, you'll have to connect through hubs like JFK, EWR where there are some flights that leave in the morning and arrive in London or Paris that evening local time. |
I responded without full comprehending your question. Zoom offers only overnight flights from Canada to Europe.
