Best darned Maritime Music you can find!!
I've just got to know, I love the maritime music, the fiddling, the folk music, hand clapping happy music!! We will be in PEI and Nova Scotia/Cape Breton for a month (mostly in PEI though as we're staying at a relative's cottage close to Cavendish). We are Albertans, but were in the Maritimes 8 yrs ago and dying to go back. We went to the Upper or Lower Deck by the Maritime Museum in Halifax and loved that, but wanted something closer to Cape Breton or PEI area. We will be in the area from Aug 4 to Sept. 4 - if anyone knows of any special concerts, festivals or musicians through that time, I'd love to know about them! Thanks so much!!

College of Piping in Summerside,PEI has concerts a few times a week...not sure of this years program but there is usually singing and dancing.

You must stay at least one night at the Normaway Inn in Margaree Valley Cape Breton. Make sure it is one of the nights when a concert is scheduled.

There are afternoon ceilidhs with local music at The Red Shoe Inn in Mabou and The Glenora Distillery as well. |
Sorry , that should say the Red Shoe Pub (owned by the Rankins of the Rankin Family)

That is very nice idea to live with full of fun and music:)

We visited NS about 5 years ago. We loved the music at the Red Shoe Pub, good food too. We stayed at a B&B in the area and they gave us directions to a dance held at a grange hall. The best music of the trip. Ask a local!
