Best beach in Cape Breton

What is the best beach in Cape Breton?

Ingonish Beach is popular and quite extensive and is located on the Cabot Trail, adjacent to the National Park and close to accommodations and other services. Up near Dingwall and Apsey Bay there are a couple of also fairly extensive and really pretty beaches, maybe a bit quieter (at least on weekdays). Google map the area and zoom in and you'll see 2 sand bars on either side of the point where Dingwall is located, enclosing lagoons. I don't remember a lot of services at these, maybe a few picnic tables and a privy. Black Brook Beach is small but pretty and has services & picnic area (can be busier).

There are a few beaches on the Ceilidh Trail but I have not spent time exploring them.

I've read good things about Point Michaud Beach but have not been there either, mostly because it's a bit off the usual tourist track.

I have always loved Port Hood beach-a lot warmer and sandier than Ingonish area.

Also the beaches at Inverness and West Mabou Road are terrific.

The warmer beaches are along the western shore of Cape Breton. You have the Port Hood, the inverness, Chimney Corner, Margaree Harbour are the ones with the most sand and then you have Belle Cote and Cheticamp . 4 are in the Margaree Harbour - Belle Cote area.
