Bed & Breakfast Inns Niagara on the Lake

Looking for a romantic bed and breakfast inn at Niagara on the Lake. We have stayed at Queens Landing and Pillar and Post but this time we would like to try staying at and Inn. Looking for something very spacious, with fireplace anb jacuzzi. Also within walking distiance to the main street of town. Thanks.

We had fabulous luck by filling out an inquiry with our specifications at the NOTL website. A place e-mailed me that seemed just perfect (and was just as promised when we arrived).

Julie - We just got back almost two weeks ago and spent one night at Lakewinds Country Manor. A very elegant victorian B&B where they served a splendid morning breakfast, as we went out for dinner there was complimentary wine in the entrance foyer and when we returned for the night, delicious chocolate truffles as a night-ending treat. Our room did have a fireplace, but no jacuzzi, there other rooms may have one, though. In our look through town, two other B&B's that looked nice to me were Shannaleigh (just a block away from Lakewinds) and the Somerset located near the waterfront. Hope this helps. You can also check out the B&B website for NOTL, although I can't remember the address, you can view all of the properties from there. <BR>

Donna - Where did you end up staying on your trip to Niagara on the Lake?

Try The Captain's Cottage. It fits your criteria. It's very romantic. It's bascially a guest addition onto a small bungalow near the marina. (Within walking distance to town). There is a separate entrance with a beautiful bed-sitting room. You have use of the outdoor jacuzzi. Your host Heather Brinsmead is very unobstrusive. My husband and I loved it!!

We stayed at a place called "Addison's" and loved our "suite". It didn't have a jacuzzi, but the other one there did (the owner took us on a "tour") and it was beautiful and comfortable, and very private (both had kitchens). There's a website. It's not within walking distance of town (unless you're a rather serious walker), but in a lovely neighborhood. After a day or two, we felt as though we "lived there". Not as "fancy" as the Pillar and Post or Queens Landing, but very, very private, comfortable, and romantic. The suite with the jacuzzi was positively gorgeous.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I called the Niagara on the lake vistors help line and they found me a B&B called Under the Arbour. All the other places everyone mention were booked. We decided at the last minute to go in October and its very hard to find a room there. I would like to know if anyone has stayed there and I remeber an Italian restaurant on the main street that was very good but I can't remember the name. Also any other places to go eat-how is the Oban Inn or Prince of Wales for dinner. How about a fun place for lunch. Any wineries to go to? Thanks -sorry for all the questions. Just excited about going.

We just returned from NOTL this week and while there picked up a great booklet listing dozens of B&B's,both in the Heritage District and immediate surrounding area.A short desciption of the property and price ranges can make deciding easier. The web site for the Association is www.bba.notl.on.ca and the referral number is (905)468-0123. I'm sure requesting this booklet can be made either way.

Julie, you will have a terrific time. Niagara on the Lake is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. If you like (or even eat) beef, try the Keilly House Inn for dinner. It's beside the golf course just as you come into town. You can walk there from the main part of town. We stayed there last year and there food (especially the beef) is fantastic. Lunch is also a good bet, but never have breakfast there, it's pathetic. We also ate at the Festival cafe (the one with the beautiful large patio on Main street). Food was o.k. but portions were small and it was expensive. Enjoy!

We loved the Shaw Festival Cafe. Didn't think the portions were skimpy, and the menu selections are enormous. To this day I wish I had gone ahead and ordered the amazingly appealing Key Lime Cheesecake on display in the dessert case. Wonderful spot for relaxing and viewing the passing parade - especially late at night when everything else is closed.
