Bed and Breakfast in Vancouver
Can you recommend a B and B in Vancouver? We don't need a suite, just a room with a queen bed. We don't know which neighborhood, either. Please help.

Please. Doesn't anyone have an opinion?

I've stayed at English Bay Inn and liked it very much. The location right near Stanley Park is great if you want to spend time there (and it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of downtown). Otherwise, a more centrally located B&B that looks very nice is O Canada House (but I've only visited, haven't stayed there).

Will you have a car? Are you intended to explore by public transit or by foot?
Do you want to be located in a residential neighbourhood downtown where you're a short stroll away from high end shopping, restaurants, and major attractions, or would you prefer more of a local residential neighbourhood alongside a beach, which is less touristy, but a more peaceful environment? If the former, you'll want to stay downtown. If the latter, you might want to look into Kitsilano ("Kits") area. If you're from North America, then you're probably familiar with the B&B scene here. If you're from Europe (or perhaps elsewhere), then you might not be aware that B&Bs in Canada are more luxurious and expensive, sometimes more than hotels. At least the B&Bs in Vancouver can be expensive. Three beautiful downtown B&B's to look into: The West End Guest House Barclay House O'Canada House One Kits B&B: The Corkscrew Inn For a budget-style B&B inn downtown, look into the Kingston B&B. |

Hi
We stayed at Water's Edge B&B awhile back, if memory serves they had 4 private suites with queen or twin beds, each one had a private entrance & private bathroom (with shower) and was just steps from the beach. Here's a good place to look as well http://www.travel--guide.org/Vancouver#VancouverHotels |

Really enjoyed O'Canada House!
