BEACHES IN CANADA

Monica:
You will find nice beaches on both east & west coasts of Canada. Living on the east coast, I am more familiar with the ones here, the best being:

- Cavandish & Brackley (Prince Edward Island)
- Hubbards, Carters and Queensland (Nova Scotia)
- Parlee, Kougibaquac, and New River Beach (New Brunswick)

There are lots more, but these are the bigger (and more popular) ones. Enjoy!

Tim

Canadian beaches, on both coasts, are generally cold, so do not imagine water like Florida or the Caribbean. The north shore of Prince Edward Island (see Tim's response - Cavandish) and New Brunswick, facing PEI (see Tim again - Parlee) are the warmest ocean beaches in Canada.
Out west, the water is cold, but the beaches are full of interesting people, and there are beaches right in downtown Vancouver. The most beautiful, but rough water and cold, are along the west coast of Vancouver Island. For a photographer, these are the best. For little kids gong swimming, pick Parlee near Shediac, in New Brunswick.
BAK
BAK

Can I add a couple.....In NS: Chrystal Crescent (20 mins from Halifax South, white sand and just stunning), Martinique & Clam Harbour (1hr from Hfx East,) and Green Bay (2 hrs South). In NB try New River Beach (Between Saint John & US border). Cheers, Rob

Lots of good beaches along the Great Lakes around Ontario, considerably warmer than the east or west coast (still cool though)

The nicest beach I remember seeing was in the middle of the country at, I believe, Lake Winnipeg. I recall miles and miles of perfectly clean sand and shallow water, but that was some years back when I was a kid. Otherwise, I like Long Beach on Vancouver Island.
