BC Fodorites, how are you?
So sorry to hear about mud slides and floods in parts of British Columbia.
My prayers and thoughts are with you. |
We are sharing the same thoughts here too...prayers and best wishes!

Thank you both for your kind words. I live in Vancouver and while we are used to rain here, this is a bit much..last week it was cold (for our standards -6), but sunny, now we have + 14 degrees and rain for days....doesnt look like it will stop for awhile....

I would love to respond but I have to get back to finishing the freakin ark!! Although we haven't experienced any tragic results here in Whistler, we have many disgruntled tourists and we are on flood alert. Green Lake in front of our house almost flooded two days ago, and then we got a two day reprieve from the rain. It is raining hard again today and projected for another week. We may still see some serious flood damage next week. Cheers, and thanks for your thoughts. Al

The house that was destroyed in the md slide was about 2 blocks from where I used to live. I can't believe that they didn't stop building up there, after the reports indicated the problems.
My parents say that the dog needs a snorkel when they take it for a walk. |
Thank you for the kind thoughts.
I have to wear rubber boots to wade around in what used to be my garden. I know I will lose some plants due to the freezing temps and now this sogginess, but really - aren't I lucky? So sad about the people losing their homes. |
We're on a ravine lot close to the
mudslide & our house was built in 1957 on loose fill (we didn't know that when we bought it). Fortunately, it is well set back from the edge and I hope it stays that way! My DH is a X-country skier and that's gone down the drain - so he's on the room cleaning out the downspouts! If it doesn't cool down and start snowing again he's be down/pout! |
