BC Day in Vancouver- what to expect?

I just learned that we will be in Vancouver on BC Day (actually the whole holiday weekend), and was wondering if there were any special festivals, street fairs, parades, fireworks, etc. that might be fun to attend. Will it be any more or less busy in the city that weekend, as far as tourism activities or restaurant reservations? Are there any websites that might list events for that weekend? I haven't found much on the HelloBC website.

Thanks!

The city will probably be quiet,as a lot of people will probably go away for the long w/e. There will not be any big celebrations for B.C. day. But I think the symphony of fire (a fireworks festival involving multiple countries) might be taking place on Aug.1 (sat) It takes place in English bay and draws lots+++ of people. The beaches etc. will be packed from about 6 p.m. on. It usually starts about 10 p.m.

I wouldn't say that the city would be quiet - it'll be pretty busy if the weather cooperates (which it likely will). BC Day isn't what's celebrated, but Vancouver has the Pride Parade that weekend - possibly the largest parade in the city! The whole West End will be one big party =

In addition, you have the Celebration of Light fireworks (Symphony of Fire was its old name from a long time ago). You're looking at 200,000+ people coming into the West End. That'll happen the night before the Pride Parade.

Overall, you're looking at a very, very busy weekend - not quiet at all. But it'll be fun and festive. :)

I don't think it will be quiet, with the World Police and Fire Games, Fireworks, Pride Parade, Sunset Beach Festival, Davie Street Pride Party....just to name a few....
