bc coast or interior

traveling t bc in the summer am wonderring what would be better?? Travelling by ferry up the inside passage to Prince Rupert then the Yellowhead to Fort St. John, up through the interior via Caribou and Alaska Hwy to Fort St. John, or is their a rail service to Fort St. John from Vancouver??? Never been to BC before and am looking for the best experience possible. Looking for scenery and adventure along the way.

That's a long, long trip you're talking about as we say here-'miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles'-are you accustomed to long drives?
The Inside Passage route one way would give you a break from behind the wheel.
There is no passenger train service to Ft St John.
