We may be visiting Kelowna in September. Does Kelowna have mountainous scenery? We like taking walks with mountain views. Photos I've seen of Kelowna seem to show hills, rather than mountains.

The area also has many very good wineries. If you want stunning mountain scenery then Vancouver or Whistler will give you that, or pretty much anywhere on the coast really. |
Thanks, raincity.girl for your kind reply.

We absolutely loved Victoria - enjoyed having afternoon tea at The Empress and whale watching; Butchart Gardens was well worth our time - really beautiful.

Victoria:
The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV) whose collection is larger than Vancouvers and has a very large amount of both japanese and chinese, scrolls, woodblock prints and textiles as it was the first pacific port. the museum is a 10 minute bus ride from DT. in the vicu=inity are also craigdarrick castkle and the gorgeous gardens at government house. about another 5 minutes east gets you to the lovely Abkahzi Gardens, a beautiful site specific monument to enduring love. from their if you like to walk head up Gonzales Hill where you wuill find stunning views of the DT, juan de fuca olympic mountains the newish blue bridge is quite beautiful with walkways ion both sides, . the south facing the inner harbour, with all its' daytime activity: boats, kayaks, ships wate rtaxis ferries float planes has viewing platforms at both ends. it's bathed in beautiful blue light at night. you can walk along the westbay walkway from the bridge to the far west end of the harbour again with views of activity on the water, the olympic mountains and on clear days mt baker!. it's level as is the walkway on the cliffs where beacon hill park meets the ocean again stunning views and lots of happy dogs! cheers AndrewDavid |
