Baseball Game in Toronto
I am heading to Toronto in May for a weekend of Red Sox/Jays games. Any ideas for bars, restaurant or things to do in the area of the Rogers Centre?
|
The Rogers Centre is right in the middle of the Entertainment district, so you will be overwhelmed by choice...why don't you share a little of your food/clubbing tastes and we can be more specific? Also www.chowhound.com has a huge and knowledgable Toronto contingent that really knows its food and drink.
|
How old are you?
|
It's true, of course, we are cute! All bundled up for winter.
|
Also, where are you staying, how long are you going to be here, etc? Car or no car?
In the summer there are festivals going on all over the city and tons of ethnic eateries accessible by public transportation depending on where you're staying. Tell us more and we'll overwhelm you with choices. |
My husband and I are both 31. We will be there Friday afternoon and leaving Monday morning. We are going to the Red Sox/Jays games Friday night and Saturday afternoon. We are pretty laid back and would like a place to hang out before and after the game, have something small to eat and some drinks. Also, maybe a place to watch the game Sunday that we are are not going to. We are big Sox fans, so a sports friendly place would be good. We are staying at the Westin Harbor Castle.

Grab a map of the Entertainment District... there's several in your room in the Toronto Magazines... head North towards Queen Street W. and you will see Gretskys, Jack Astors, Dave and Busters, and several local places... if the weather is good... get yourself to Queen St W where you will find a dozen or so outside bistros... theres also a strip of great places on King st near the Theatre district.... Go Sox!

Great...thanks! They look like our type of places and I will hope for warm weather to sit outside somewhere too!

LC,
Weather permitting, walk along Front Street as far the St. Lawrence Market. Much to do, much to see. Among other things, you have the Hockey Hall of Fame on the NW corner of Yonge and Front and C'est What among many worthwhile others that'll offer up a plethora of nectar of the hops gods. |
Joe Badalli's is a great Italian restaurant on Front Street - close to Rogers Center. see http://www.joebadalis.com/main2.html
A bit further away, particularly if you like a selection on ales, is cest what - see http://www.martiniboys.com/Toronto/C...at-review.html enjoy your stay in Toronto - it is a wonderful place. |
