Banff/Lake Louise prices!!!

I went on the website of Banff Springs hotel, and Fairmont Lake Louise, and was amazed to see prices in the $1000 per night for a room!!! Is this right??!! Any reason why the prices are so right, and what is included?

I was considering either Banff or Hawaii for my honeymoon, and Hawaii seems so much cheaper now!

Is the price really worth it, and what is there to do in Banff that would make it a trip that is better than Hawaii??

That is probably right for the Banff Springs Hotel (for a suite, not a simple room) but there are much nicer places to stay in Banff for much less. If you look at www.travelalberta.com, you will find wonderful bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, private stays. You are looking at places where movie stars stay and they are grossly overpriced for what you get. Do a search on this web site for other places such as the Post Hotel. Good luck.

You would love the Post hotel for your honeymoon. Its wonderful. If you are more outdoors activity people than beach people I would pick Alberta.

The Banff Springs hotel has different rates for many different types of room. They are not all $1000!!! It is a fabulous hotel with outstanding views down the Bow River. You can x-country ski beside the hotel along the river, ice-skate on their rink and enjoy their word class spa and hot pools and more. I love the place, and NO NO No I am NOT a travel agent.

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that my fiance and I are going to Banff Springs Hotel for our honeymoon. Number One...don't go by website prices...call them directly. We are getting the junior suite and the canadian experience package and it was $849.00 per night CD. It seems expensive, but the canadian experience is an all inclusive package so we get all our meals, entertainment etc included. We thought it was a great deal!!

Elizabeth

I don't know if the Fairmont Lake Louise is the same hotel as the Chateau Lake Louise, but if it is I booked a room through nwaworldvactions.com for $394 per night. Every place else I checked was at least $900. You might want to check out Northwest Airlines' website; maybe they book rooms at the Banff Springs hotel too.
