Banff/Honeymoon/ February? Help

Thinking of going to Banff for our honeymoon in February. It is between here and 2 other snowy spots. All the info I saw on here was very dated. Can someone give me some ideas on where to stay, Where to eat, What to do? We will be there 1 week. Definately want to ski a couple days, stay somewhere with a beautiful view, hang out by the fire, and of course eat great food! We love quaint, local spots! Thanks in advance!

Whistler would be a better choice for avid skiers...

Robin, I respectfully disagree with you on Whistler being a better choice for avid skier .... The Canadian Rockies offers so much more.

For Banff, consider Buffalo Mounatin Lodge. It is away from the main drag. Every room has a fire place and the restaurant is fabulous.

buffalo mountain lodge gets good reviews. the rimrock has gorgious views but it's a little ways out of town so you need to drive or take a shuttle. banff springs hotel is a good choice but be very specific when discussing rooms. some are great, some are very small.
casual dining, i like magpie & stump's for mexican, st james gate for pub food, the keg always has good steaks but i find them over priced these days

I second the Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Very romantic place with an amazing diningroom. Lovely outdoor huge hot tub. If you want to eat a great burger with the locals, don't miss Bruno's. The Grizzly House is a fun fondue place. Le Beaujolais is very romantic fine dining. Easy trip to Sunshine or Lake Louise ski hills.
