Banff honeymoon
Honeymooning in Banff Sept 9-14 2003. I've narrowed lodging down to a room at Buffalo Mtn Lodge, chalet at Tunnel Mtn Resort, room at Traveller's Inn, or chalet at Hidden Ridge. I'm favoring Buffalo Mtn. Lodge. Agree? Need feedback, please. Thanx.

edoc:

If I was Honeymooning in the Banff area I would choose the "Chateu Lake Louise"!
John

Edoc, of the hotels you listed my choice would be Buffalo Mountain Lodge. However, make sure you book a premier room with a beautiful bathroom and peaked ceiling. The superior rooms are not as nice.

Of the list hotels that you provided, the best choice by far (imho) is the Buffalo Mountain Lodge - My (now) wife and I had a contract in hand to have our wedding ceremony at the BML last June, before we decided to elope to the Caribbean, get married on the beach, and use the money we saved as a downpayment on a home (to go off on a tangent - sorry).

I would, however, agree with bmw that there are better (and more romantic) choices in the Banff area. My top two picks would be the Rimrock Resort in Banff (very high-end luxury accommodations - it's where I proposed) or the Chateau Lake Louise (the rooms aren't quite as nice as the Rimrock, but in my opinion, Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world).

I'm happy to try answer any other questions you may have.

Terry

the buffalo mountain lodge or tunnel mountain are nice and right next to each other. they are up the hill from town. if walking, it's a rather long one but there is public transport that goes right past those hotels and there is a little grocery store (expensive) and liquor store right next door. the restaurant at bml is suppose to be very good.
