Banff and Jasper Hotel Recommendations
 

We will be staying at the Fairmont Hotel on LL but found it just a little too pricey in Banff and Jasper (3 nts at each location). Can anyone recommend hotels of equal caliber but not quite as pricey?? Just curious if anyone has stayed at Park Place Inn in Jasper or the Juniper Hotel and Bistro in Banff. If so, comments would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, restaurant suggestions for dinner in Banff, Jasper, and LL would be welcomed.

In Jasper I can't comment on the 2 places you mention, but we stayed at Chateau Jasper a few years ago and found it to be OK. Stayed in a suite (maybe their honeymoon suite?). Could walk to downtown.

In Banff, we have stayed at Buffalo Mtn Lodge in one of their premier rooms. It sits above the town and we loved it. Pricey, though.

We have also stayed Brewsters Mtn Lodge in Banff. Again, not spectacular, but it is right downtown and we were able to go to restaurants and bars at night and not worry about moving the car.
