Air Canada rating

How do Canadians rate Air Canada now? Are they satisfied with service, on-time arrivals? I'm trying to do a comparison between Air Canada and some of the major US airlines. Does anyone have any opinions or horror stories?

Overall I think Canadian air carriers are better and more efficient than U.S. air carriers. I do think our standards are being lowered to the U.S. level. I have taken AA, AC, CP, DL, and they all had their good days and their bad days. It just depends on the day.

From personal experience, speaking with
friends & relatives and what I have read
about the recent protracted labour disputes @ Air Canada, I would say that Canadians are fed up with Air Canada/
Canadian Airlines! ( The 2 merged within the past year & now basically have a monopoly). Cancelled flights, delayed
flights, "who cares? attitude" flight
attendants, arrogant pilots, exorbitant
fares, nightmare stories about attempting to redeem aeroplan points....
the list goes on & on. B/c of all of this we switched from AC to US Air
to fly to Florida. We LOVE US Air!
US Air fares are about 1/2 of AC's to fly
to Florida! Service is GREAT on US Air,
flights are on time, friendly, helpful
crew.
HI

I'm an American who has taken Air Canada on numerous occasions. Mostly Montreal-NYC, Montreal-Washington DC. It's been awhile (5 years) since I've flown a US airlines (US air, Delta, AA, United), but unless US airlines have drastically improved overall I would say the flying experience is comparable to US airlines. Sometimes things are on-time, sometimes delayed. If anything, I would say Air Canada is SLIGHTLY better than the US airlines I've flown, but it's a very subtle difference for sure.

DAN

As an AC frequent flier, AC continues to be a great airline compared to US carriers - friendlier flight attendants, better inflight service, relatively new fleet. Like most airlines with heavy northeast flights, AC has experienced a lot of delays/cancellations this summer due to the horrid weather on the east coast. Finally, a recent study by a British? expert rated AC the safest airline in the world. P.S. I'm not an AC shareholder.

I flew Air Canada from Atlanta to Calgary and back last year. At the time, I thought it the best airline I have flown. Even tourist class was fairly roomy. Of course, that can change.
