Air Canada question
I am flying with a friend in July, it is my first time on Air Canada. We have 2 different confirmation numbers, as we booked separately. When we check in, is there anyway we can get seats next to each other?
We live in 2 different locations, so we will check in online separately. It would be nice to sit next to each other, but if we don't, it won't be the end of the world. Thanks. |
Air Canada offers online seat selection in their "Travel Tools" section... you can pick now, wait until you check-in on line or do it at the desk when you get there...

They are $20 a seat to do it now. For the 4 flights, that's $80. I guess we will just wait til we are at the desk.
Thanks. |
I would do it online 24 hours prior to departure. Check seat availability first with your travel partner to find two seats together then book them separately. If two seats are not together, book your seats anyway then ask at departure desk for two together. I find it best to book any seat available in case flight is oversold. At least you will have a seat.

Good point, Scotia, thank you.

i think it's free within the 24 hours prior so just get on-line right at 24 hours in advance.

Yes, at 24 hours check in to the minute. Be on the phone with the friend. Check a couple of minutes before to get your first choice of seats.
Having said that, I might have tried for WestJet instead. My daughter has found out the hard way that Air Canada does their best to make sure you can't use tickets if you can't make a flight and cancel. WestJet is much more customer friendly. |
