Admission to National Parks - daily/once only
We are staying in Banff and Jasper when we visit Alberta in September. One of my co-workers told me that we only pay the park admission ONCE since we are staying within the park. My thought would be that you would pay by the day. Can someone please advise.

When you enter the first national park that you'll be visiting, be it Banff National Park or Jasper National Park or whatever, you'll arrive at payment kiosks that look like toll booths.
Tell the attendant how many days you intend to spend in the national parks, that is, how long you intend to be in all of the national parks that you'll be visiting.
Suppose you tell the attendant that you'll be spending six days in the parks. He/she will sell you a pass that is valid for six days.
Once you have that pass, you can enter and leave the parks as often as you wish, you can cross the boundary from one park to another, and so on. For example, it is entirely possible to spend some time in each of Jasper, Yoho and Banff National Parks in a single day.

Judy, where do you find the information when a "day" ends in a National Park? You say the day ends at 4 pm the following day in the Rocky Mountain Parks. I was recently in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. There the day pass expired at noon the following day. I would have thought all parks would be the same in this regard. I could not find the information on the NPS website.

It used to be on the website that lists the entry fees for Banff National Park.
Recently philsbert1's trip report alerted me to the fact that a group annual pass had gone up to C$123.80:

Earlier today I checked out Banff NP's website and updated the relevant page of my own website to reflect the new prices.
During that exercise I went to Banff NP's website to get the new prices, and noticed that the definition of a day no longer was there.
I am not in a place where I can phone the Banff Visitor Centre right now, but will do so when I get a chance.
