Adding Whistler to the Itinerary

Hi!!
Few days ago I posted about our itinerary of Vancouver,Victoria and Tofino. We are couple in our 30ts who like good food, nature and my husband loves museums.
My husband talked to some friends who suggested we should add Whistler to the itinerary.
We are planning on going the last two weeks of April (aproximately 10-14 days)
My husband would like to ski a little so that is why we are thinking adding Whistler.
Do you think it will be worth it??
We are thinking this itinerary:
Vancouver/car to Whistler/ferry to Horseshoe Bay and drive to Victoria/drive to Tofino/drive to Nanaimo and take ferry to Vancouver
or
Vancouver/ferry to Victoria/drive to Tofino/drivet to Nanaimo and take ferry and drive to Whistler/drive to Vancouver.
Thank you so much for your help!

Hmmm I feel like I am doing one of those puzzles that will decide whether I get into Harvard. Option 1 has you doubling back both to Victoria and Tofino. Option 2 is better but has you getting to Whistler later in the season, which is not a huge deal. So I recommend option 3 which would be option 2 backwards.

But puzzles are not my thing.

Darn That should read doubling back from Victoria and Tofino. Doubling back from Tofino is unavoidable but doubling back from Victoria is avoidable.

Thank you for your reply, now that I see it makes more sense that way. So we should do:
Arrive at vancouver rent a car and go to Whistler the same day
Whistler to Tofino in ferry
Drive Tofino to Victoria
Victoria to Vancouver

Thank you!

You'll have a great time. It was in Tofino that we decided to go to Japan and China. You can't help but look at over the waves and wonder what is over the horizon.

Speaking of time, you may not have enough of it but to the west of Victoria on highway 14 you can pass through Sooke. Not far after that you will find the trail to Mystic Beach. It's only a 45 minute hike but you'll feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

Gee I am having a tough day posting as I am supposed to be focusing on a work emergency. But I meant to say I know you have been to Kyoto and surrounds too. Another magical place.
