5 days in Nova Scotia from Halifax
We plan to travel around Nova Scotia in June 16th-20th. What would be a reasonable itinerary? Of cource we would like to reach Cape Breton, but at the same time, we do not want to drive more than 4 hours/day; actually, we would like to spend a couple of nights at the same location and drive around.
Thanks in advance Michael |
You can fly into Sydney and travel around Cape Breton from there, if you don't have to go to Halifax.

Don't know what your interests are, but I would spend the whole 5 days on Cape Breton, it's not really enough time to see all of NS.

We were in NS last summer and had a very nice time. We stayed in Halifax 3 days and then drove to Baddeck and then on to Mahone Bay. If I recall correctly, the drive to Baddeck was something under 5 hours, and we stopped for a short time to eat on the way. The distance is far, but the traffic was not a problem, even in mid-summer. Baddeck has a number of places to stay, is a pretty small town on a large lake, and is a very good point for driving around Cape Breton. Thus, you could stay in Halifax for a couple of days and then drive to Baddeck for another couple of days. More than that, though, would be too ambitious for the length of time you plan to be there. Have fun.
