I live in Toronto so I can tell you about Toronto, now depending on when your visiting, if its in the summer and you have kids you will want to go to Canada's wonderland. CN tower in Toronto and the Harbour Front is a nice place to have lunch by the water. You can also take a ferry to central island and spend a few hours their bike riding around the island.
Lake Muskoka is beautiful to visit and so is Tobermory. Blue mountain is also an option. Niagara falls, one of the 7 wonders of the world. Cliffton hill and the great wold lodge at niagara will be fun for the kids, their is also a very nice casino there. a lil further down is marineland, which is also fun for kids. Near Hamilton, there is also a Lion Safari, whcih is a lot fun too! These are th some places I know that are great. Good luck! |
I would highly recommend our national parks. They are beautifully scenic and have wonderful interpretive programs which are usually free with parks admission. Some also have fully equipped campsites you can rent--with a yurt or tent camper all set up with bedding, dishes, etc. . You just bring food, and buy wood for a campfire on site. A truly Canadian experience.

Agree with everything up above. Also:
-Vancouver + Vancouver Island (particularly the forests and beaches) -The Calgary Stampede (if you're there in early July) -Get your hands on some poutine somewhere - anywhere! - in Quebec |
Hope OP is still checking this site.
I recommend the following: Nova Scotia - especially Cape Breton Island & the Cabot Trail & Fortress Louisbourg Montreal Quebec City Ottawa Toronto Gatineau Park in Quebec Victoria Vancouver I'm sure all the national parks are beautiful but I haven't had the pleasure of visiting them yet. |
Hi Kevin,
I'd say 1. Take a white water boat ride from Maligne Lake, Alberta 2. Visit (or better yet, stay at) the Chateau Lake Louise 3. Drive from Thunder Bay to Toronto following the north shore 4. Agawa Canyon train tour from Sault Ste. Marie 5. Definitely Niagara on the Lake and Niagara Falls 6. Toronto 7. The Thousand Islands and Ottawa 8. Montreal 9. Quebec City (in any season) 10. Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail 11. Newfoundland (though I haven't done it personally) HTH u |
