3 days in NS

My 18 year old son and I are planning 3 nights and 4 days in NS -- arriving in the afternoon in Halifax We will have a car and want to run and see all that we can. Whale watching would be a priority . . but other than that we just want to travel and see what there is to see. What would be best to see the most?

what are you likes/dislikes and when are you arriving?

We get in to Halifax on a Tuesday afternoon. Plan on heading to the ferry to go to PEI. Wednesday head to Ingoish. Thursday head to Halifax. Friday at 4pm we head back. I know this sounds aggressive, but we like to run and see all that we can. Ideas?

I posted my first segment of our recent Nova Scotia trip. We did Ingonish and just maybe you could pick up a tip or two. It is under Nova Scotia Trip Report August 07. H

Unless you want to sleep in the car, there is no way to do that itinerary. Plus, not sure how much you will see on the highway - that will be the only time you have!

With only three nights a few options:
1. Head directly to Cape Breton and explore the Trail, Louisbourg, etc.
2. Stay in Halifax for one night, do Lunenburg 2nd night, cross over to Annapolis Valley for 3rd night.
3. Simply head to PEI via ferry but discover Pictou County or head up the Sunrise Trail towards Amherst and take the bridge across to PEI.

Thursday Night: Stay in Halifax( Thurs "day" drive from Baddeck to Halifax, explore Halifax area)

Have you put this into Mapquest or Mappy? this is VERY ambitious!

more then ambitous, it's just silly unless you just want to see the inside of your vehicle.
