3 - 4 days in Vancouver with kids in late June

We will spending a week in Seattle and Vancouver starting June 18th with two kids (4 and 6.5 yr old). I was thinking spending 2 .5 days in Seattle and then head over to Vancouver for 3 - 4 days and wanted to get some ideas on what to see in the city. Also would it be possible to do a day trip to Victoria and/or a day trip to some northern town and take gondola ride up the mountains. We are from South Florida so more interested in mountains, waterfalls and activities that kids can enjoy. We will be driving from Seattle so will have a car during the trip. Any input will be much appreciated.

With small kids, you can get here fast and have a full day to enjoy. No need to drive hours away to Whistler.

LOL - in Vancouver you can drive merely a few minutes out of town and pay (about $40 each for adults) to ride a gondola up the side of a mountain! Don't go very far for that!

With young kids, the hassles of Victoria for a day trip would be compounded.

On the bright side (and I mean that literally, in this case) you will be around for the longest days of the year, in the north, so daylight will be abundant until about 10pm.

I think I would just stick to Vancouver and Seattle on your trip... the Vancouver Aquarium (in Stanley Park) is excellent as a spot to take the kids.

They have just opened up a new attraction on the sea to sky highway. about 1/2 hr north of Vancouver. Gondola ride up the mountain, then terrific views from lookout and suspension bridge. also several hikes around there
Close to the Brittania mine museum. Get to pan for gold, and take small train through mine tunnels. check out there website. Haven't been there but looks great. The kids would probably love it

The Sea to Sky Gondola goes up The Chief which is just outside Squamish (45mins from Vancouver). Located next to Shannon Falls, great spot to bring the kids and the views are amazing!

Another option would be the gondola up Grouse mountain in North Vancouver which would be a 15-20min drive from downtown depending on traffic. Views up here are spectacular and on the way is the Capilano Suspension bridge, which is fun and informative for the kids.
