3-4 days in Toronto
 

We’re planning a 3-4 day getaway in Toronto, Ontario and are looking for ideas. We’ve never been to the city - excited to go! We like boutique/historical hotels, architecture, history, art, music, nature, good food, breweries and wineries. No chain restaurants or hotels, please. Thanks!

A few more detail would be helpful if you want relevant information. For example:

What time of year are you coming?
Who's coming? Adults? Kids? Teens?
What's your hotel budget?
Restaurants -- high-end? casual? ethnic? vegan? etc.
Are you willing to explore neighbourhoods or prefer to stay on the main drags?
Are you driving? Will you need a car here for anything?

That sort of stuff.

Roncesvalles Ave/Roncesvalles Village.

Mixed ethnic neighborhood, used to be the heart of the Polish community 40 years ago, less now.
Take the KIng Street streetcar from downtown.

High Park, probably the best and biggest park in Toronto, is a short walk from Roncesvalles Ave.


Across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum, at 208 Bloor is a very good breakfast and lunch place , Over Easy, traditional English
breakfast.

Attactions
 

If you are hockey fans you'll want to check out the Hockey Hall of Fame on Yonge Street. It's a museum and a hall of fame that features exhibits about players, teams, memorabilia and the Stanley Cup! You even get to take a picture next to it, they give you some white gloves for touching it but it's pretty extraordinary. Happy travels!

It is, in my opinion, the best city in Canada, though a lot of people in Vancouver will disagree with that! I compare it to Melbourne for its trendy streets, art scene, districts, and street art. When you visit Toronto you might just think the same.

There are so many things to do in Toronto, the city was basically built for entertainment with new events and festivals happening almost constantly. This Toronto travel guide will have you fully prepared for a short or long weekend Toronto trip.
The best time to visit Toronto is during the shoulder seasons spring (April-May) and fall (September-November). From personal experience I would recommend September when the weather can often still be warm, the prices have dropped off from peak tourist season and there is less of a chance of rain or snow than in the spring.

We just did two days in Toronto this month. I'm far from an expert but her are some of our highlights ... Breakfast at Petit Dejeuner, a Begian themed cafe ... Dinner at Jules Bistro in Queen Street West ... Come From Away, the Broadway musical about the 9 /11 planes that had to land in Newfoundland.
