24h in Toronto

We are having 24 hours in Toronto this weekend, will stay in downtown. An easy solution would be to check out downtown attractions recommended by guidebooks, such as CN Tower, City Hall, ... But I am not that into city/modern/highrise attractions although these must be nice... This weekend is also Open Door. I would like to get help on a more unique yet practical itinerary. Thanks!

About us, there are 5 of us. Two people are very conservative when it comes to food. One person and his video camera walk either slowly or backwards, yet he speaks no English... What we might do is to break into 2 groups. The fast group and the slow group meet somewhere at the end of the day.

So if you could also tell me how much (minimum) time each spot requires, it would really be helpful for me to plan the itinerary for each group.

Thanks for helping!

It's very difficult to say how long someone else would spend visiting a place.

Doors Open is on this weekend - here's the site that shows what they're offering this year: http://www.thestar.com/Entertainment/article/423835

Venues are all over the city.

Thanks for the link. I like the map. Still have not figured out where to go though. I will just play by ear then.

Maybe the slow group (or both groups) would like the Hop on Hop off bus tour - http://www.torontotours.net/tours/to...m?tour_id=1406
