2 weeks in maritime provinces

Hi,
My husband and I are arriving with our car in Yarmouth on August 4th. I am trying to decide which direction to head when we first get there. We wish to see New Brunswick (where my mother was born), Nova Scotia, PEI and Cape Breton. Would love suggestions on how to make the circuit.
Thank you.

How much tie do you have?

Oops, just realized you said two weeks. It is a few years since I’ve been to that part of the world and my memory of routes is a little fuzzy. However, I do recall going around Cape Breton in a clockwise direction gives the best views, but on a nice day it is spectacular either way.

I suggest driving from Yarmouth to Digby. Take the ferry from Digby to Saint John, NB. I am not sure where in New Brunswick you wish to visit, but from Saint John drive to PEI via the bridge. Then take the ferry from PEI to Nova Scotia. From there drive to Cape Breton. It is a long drive from Cape Breton back to Yarmouth so perhaps a stop in Halifax, Pictou or the Annapolis Valley. (It is approximately five hours from Cape Breton to Halifax.) I am not sure how long you want to spend in each location but you should be able to do it in two weeks. Please check ferry schedules first and for a speedier trip do not take the Marine Drive along Eastern Shore of N.S.

Good morning,
This is very helpful. My mother was born in Napan, but I have no further information about the farm. I think we will stick with St. John, Fredericton and Moncton.
One more question, if you don't mind. I am hoping that we do not have to relocate every night. Are there any areas, such as PEI, where we can spend 2 or 3 nights and drive off for day trips?
Thank you so much.

do you only want to see cities in new brunswick? what about fundy national park, kouchibouguac national park, hopewell rocks? what are your interests? beaches? do you want hiking? kayaking? history?
2 weeks is a very short amount of time to cover 3 provinces so you should figure out what your priorities are. give us that information and we can provide more but - i'd plan on 3-4 nights in two different locations in cape breton, 2 nights in halifax, 1 night in lunenburg, 3 nights in pei - just to give you some idea.
