1,000 Islands from Toronto
 

Only 3 hrs or so to Gananoque, take a boat tour, stay overnight, stop in Kingston on the way home. Would you do this? Or would you rather stay overnight in Kingston?

Any advices are welcome.

Kingston and Gananoque are a half-hour drive apart. Your planned tour deserves two nights but one hotel can serve both places. Kingston is worth at least a day on its own, for its early-Ontario history, harbour and Wolfe Island, and especially the often-overlooked Fort Henry.
