FOR TOURISTS THAT WANT TO VISIT BALI (AND OTHER PLACES IN INDONESIA), NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME. THE HOTELS AND OTHER THINGS THAT SHOULD BE PAID IN USD, MORE OR LESS REMAIN UNCHANGED.
THE BENEFIT IS FOR THETHINGS YOU BUY IN RUPIAH... YOU CAN GET MORE NOW WITH THE SAME USD COMPARE TO FEW MONTHS AGO.

I'm not sure about the prices but I heard that a lot of tourist places are quoting prices in US$. It makes sense that anyone dealing with tourists would try to deal in dollars. If I were you I'd take hard currency in cash - small notes. , Maybe you could let me know the situation after your trip.

I visited Bali three weeks ago and the shopping, eating and drinking etc. is incredibly cheap! I have been to Bali 7 times and never before have I seen it like this!! This time last year I received Rp1500 for the Aussie dollar and on my most recent trip, January 1998, I received Rp8000 for the Aussie dollar!!...Pretty amazing!!...The best part is that none of the prices have changed and the quality of the shopping has improved dramatically. Eating and drinking are also incredibly cheap with most of the hotels and restaurant prices in Rupiah. It really is a fantastic holiday and if you were thinking of going....now is definately the time! With the currency the way it is, you can live the life of luxury for 2 weeks....for next to nothing!!...Enjoy!!
