Tips for Cook Islands - Solo Female Traveler

I'm planning on visiting Rarotonga this Spring and was hoping someone might see this to give me some tips.

I am in my mid-30s and will be traveling alone. I am not a "seasoned" solo traveler but am at least a familiar with travel (mostly Europe) and this will be my first trip to the South Pacific.

Is there anything I need to keep in mind when traveling to this area alone?

I do want to do some "adventure" excursions, namely a hike to the Needle, paddle boarding, snorkeling (pretty on the tame side). Are there any organized guides or tours for these types of activities?

Thanks!

I hate to see an unanswered post - but I have not been to Rarotonga despite living in NZ.
I would think you would be perfectly safe - my friend Lynette went solo for a break there after her husband passed away. Not quite the same as a pleasure trip but a lot of New Zealanders go there. It will probably cost you more in a hotel as the single rate is the same as 2 people.

Thank you for your reply, Tasmangirl. I have heard it is quite popular with New Zealanders.

Yeah, I figured the single-supplement will add to my costs but am prepared for it.

Thanks again!
