If any of you have visited your students at Bond University I would love to hear from you regarding your accomodations and itenerary, how you traveled etc. Also was your child living on or off campus?

Firstly here is a web-site about the Gold Coast area itself and the surrounding areas.
http://www.goldcoasttourism.com.au/
Bond Uni is in the suburb of Robina which is due west about 3 klms from the ocean from Miami Beach. It is a modern but small University and it has a lovely lake on one side. The facilities, although small, are very good and the location is wonderful for the students. It is approximately 2 klms from a large shopping complex and about 5 klms from the major shopping complex on the coast. There are very nice surrounding suburbs which have a lot of good student accommodation. The class sizes are small and it has a lot of individual attention devoted to the students. No doubt that you know that it has an extra semester per year and intensive cources so that a student can get their degree a year quicker than other universities.
There is, or used to be, good accommodation for family of students at the University itself or you could find something very nice within a radius of a couple of klms.
They have a great health and fitness programme at the University and the pool is one of the best on the coast. I used to train there.
Take a look at the website and feel free to ask any other questions you feel necessary.

Janese, Thank you so much for your feedback. From your information and the goldcoast website I have learned so much. I do wish there were a way I could get other info from you. Sounds like you know the area well. Our son is going in Jan to study for one semester, and we will visit probably in March. We are from the US, so it being so far away, I am doing my own in depth research so I can feel great about his studying there. So thank you, I am feeling better already.

Hi
Write to me direct on [email protected] and yes I do live in the area and I know Bond really well. Your son will love it there and it has a large population of o/s students so we will not feel out of place. I think you will find that he then will be sorry he was not doing more than one semester!!!!
When writing please put something in the subject line so that I don't delete you along with the 95 other spam emails for the day.
Regards
Liz/Janese/whatever!
